Boundless
“Boundless” is an installation/performance created from an interdisciplinary practice of the choreographer, who explores and crosses the boundaries between writing, dance, video, paper cuts, spoken word, and live music.
Three women are engaged in a ritual transformation of space into a living cosmos of archetypical symbols. Through a labyrinthically designed route, we encounter a series of installations and performances in various rooms of Dance House Lefkosia.
The experience becomes a voyage to an underworld, filled with reflections and realizations on the nature of boundlessness. From the circular cosmic dance of the beginning, to the universe of infinite numbers, to the fragments of Cassandra’s monologue in ancient Greek that foresees a catastrophic future and leads us to a dark room filled with falling paper figures into blood basins, to the final exodus to light and to the last installation of angelic eyes looking at us and the ironically compassionate plastic hands to hold onto.
The choreographer offers us fragments of narrations, moments of awareness, questions of temporality, freedom, power, coexistence, destruction or exclusion.
What is boundlessness? Unlimited love? Infinite pain? Freedom? Compassion? Complete darkness?
Blinding brightness? Timelessness?
How is this experienced or embodied?
Can the heart be the centre of boundlessness?
