About

Asomates Dynameis (disembodied forces) borrows its name from the Byzantine term for angels to indicate the spiritual energy they express through dance. Looking upon the body as a living memory, a poetic topos where the human experience can be traced, their dance becomes a vehicle of rememberance and reflection.

The company was founded in 1996 in Paris by the Greek-born diaspora choreographer Andromachi Dimitriadou-Lindahl. From 2000 to 2003 the company resided in Stockholm, and since 2004 resides in Nicosia, Cyprus.

Asomates Dynameis has presented works at various venues and festivals, including Dansens Hus (Stockholm), Kalamata International Dance Festival, Megaron Mousikis (Athens), Centre Culturel Suedois (Paris), Thessaloniki Cultural Capital, Forum Libre Danse (Avignon, Les Hivernales), Michalis Kakoyiannis Foundation (Athens), Medelhavsmuseet (Stockholm), Glashuset and Modernadansteatern (Stockholm), Aversta Contemporary Arts Centre (Aversta), Marinmuseet (Stockholm), Cyprus Choreography Platform, Kypria International Festival, Cyprus European Dance Festival, Dance Waves International Festival, No-Body Performing Arts Festival, Maison de la Musique et de La Dance (Strasbourg), 3rd Zante Dance Festival (Zakynthos), and 3rd Dance Bridges Festival (Kolkata) among others.
